The town of St.Gallen is quite a cultural highlight with its abbey (a UNESCO world heritage site since 1983). There are a number of restaurants in the old, historical part of the town with superb local dishes.

Lake Constance is only a 20-minute train journey away and has a fantastic hiking and biking area to tempt visitors.
