Safety at the HSG

Safety at our university is very important to us, which is why we regularly inspect our internal safety measures.

Main Building of the University of St.Gallen.

Ensuring health and safety requires the appropriate expertise. We ensure that our employees are equipped with these skills by providing ongoing, specific training.

Risk identification and protection
Our aim is to protect our employees from obvious risks, buildings and furnishings from unnecessary damage and to limit disruptions to the services we provide.

Safety-critical information for employees
To achieve this goal, we hold an information event every three months for our new employees about protecting buildings and people. In addition, our employees periodically attend trainings focused on current topics such as how to respond to threatening situations at the workplace.

Safety information for students
Our new students learn how to respond in case of an alarm during Freshman Week.

Emergency teams
We also have several emergency teams of staff from different departments who have received fire, evacuation and first-aid training. Employees responsible for maintenance and cleaning tasks receive periodic occupational health and safety training.

Safety instructions
Instructions for correct conduct in case of fire, evacuation, or need for first aid are available in more than 160 places at our university. These locations also have the external and internal emergency numbers.
