5/14/2012. The HSG’s Student Union annually awards the Credit Suisse Award for Best Teaching to excellent teachers. This year, the prize went to Dr Reto Schuppli, Lecturer in Mathematics.

3/16/2012. Prof. Dr. Georg Kämpfer, Frankfurt am Main, Prof. Dr. Norbert Pfitzer, Stuttgart, and Prof. Dr. Wienand Schruff, Berlin, will be awarded the 2011 Dr. Kausch Prize at the University of St.Gallen (HSG).

3/8/2012. Prof. Dr. Christian Keuschnigg has been appointed Director of the Institute of Advanced Studies in Vienna as from 1June 2012. The economist will continue to work as a professor at the HSG, albeit with a reduced workload.

2/1/2012. Prof. Dr. Markus Schmid has been Full Professor of Corporate Finance at the Swiss Institute of Banking and Finance (s/bf-HSG) since 1 February 2012.

2/1/2012. Prof. Dr. Daria Berg has been Chair Professor of Chinese Culture and Society at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) since 1 February 2012.

1/12/2012. The Parliament of the Principality of Liechtenstein has appointed Prof. Dr. Bernhard Ehrenzeller as Judge and Prof. Dr. Benjamin Schindler as Substitute Judge of the State Court.

1/11/2012. Swiss Radio and Television has nominated Dr. Nils Jent of the Center for Disability and Integration (CDI-HSG) for a Swiss Award. The Swiss Awards for 2011 will be presented on 14 January 2012.

1/6/2012. German Federal Chancellor Merkel has established the forum “Future Dialogue” with well-known experts. HSG professors Heike Bruch and James W. Davis have been appointed to the forum.

12/28/2011. Prof. Dr. Carl Baudenbacher has been re-elected president of the court of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) in Luxembourg. His fourth term of office will last from January 2012 through 2014.

12/23/2011. The Czech Republic has said farewell to the deceased former Czech President Václav Havel with a state ceremony on December 23. Reminiscences of the HSG honorary doctor by former President Rolf Dubs.
