Extension and renovation
The renovation and extension of the University will be completed by autumn 2011. The over 6,700 students will thus be given an appropriate infrastructure.

The HSG buildings of the 1960s have been renovated since 2006. Since autumn 2010, students have once again been able to make use of the new restaurant, the renovated Main and Auxiliary Buildings, as well as the Aula.
More than 6,700 students
Today, more than 6,700 are studying at the HSG. Originally, the campus was intended for 3,500 students. When the renovation and extension work has been completed, the facilities will have been designed for a capacity of 5,000 students. Plans for a further extension are being discussed.
- The Main Building from the 1960s was comprehensively renovated within 30 months. At the same time, the infrastructure was adapted to present-day requirements. A greater number of smaller, more flexible classrooms were put in place.
- The former sports hall was converted into a modern restaurant with 480 seats, above which additional new classrooms were built.
- The former restaurant will have been converted into an administrative building by summer 2011.
- The lower car park has been replaced by an underground car park. The upper car park has been abolished. All in all, the number of parking spaces remains the same, but all of them are situated in one place; this means that the traffic can be channelled.
- The new Triple Sports Hall that was erected in Höhenweg in 2006 has so far served students as a substitute for the missing seminar rooms. After the provisional classrooms it contained have been dismantled, Unisport will be able to take possession of the building in March 2011.
- The renovated Main and Auxiliary Buildings have been available to HSG students again since Autumn Semester 2010. The official inauguration of the facilities as a whole will take place when the building work has been completed in autumn 2011.
