International Affairs and Governance (MIA)

The interdisciplinary, practice-oriented Master's Programme in International Affairs and Governance (MIA) is one of the most distinguished degree courses at the University of St.Gallen.

HSG students in the library.

A generalist economic and political understanding allows you to comprehend today's major challenges in their larger social and international contexts. You will also benefit from the diverse range of services of one of Europe’s leading business schools.

Diverse career opportunities
As a graduate of the Master’s Programme in International Affairs and Governance (MIA), career paths will open up to you in consulting firms and international companies, in diplomacy and international organisations, public administration, media and non-profit organisations.

MIA includes courses in economics, political science and selected topics in law and business administration. The languages of instruction are German and English. Beginning in the Fall Semester of 2008, the degree course was offered entirely in English.

After three semesters in the MIA programme you will have earned a Masters of Arts (M.A.) at the HSG. You can begin studies in either the Fall or Spring Semester.

Double degree
The MIA offers the opportunity to participate in attractive double degree programmes at the Institut d'Etudes Politiques (Sciences Po) in Paris, the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in Medford, Boston and the Yonsei Graduate School of International Studies in Seoul, South Korea.

The MIA Programme offers a unique opportunity to participate in the GLOBE Leadership Seminar in Talloires.
